What people are saying about The Robotic Tales

“The Robotic Tales by Natalie Igharo is, in a word, astonishing… The story is gripping, the characterisation is fantastic, the depth of knowledge is excellent,” says Scarlett de Courcier, Litter Critter

‘I think what the author has written at the age of 13 is quite remarkable. The plot holds together in its entirety and I particularly enjoyed the moral/political angle put in and the liveliness of the dialogue used. I’m sure that young teenagers would enjoy the story. It is fast-paced with plenty of action that deals with issues, often humorously, which relate to teenagers.’ Paul Benham (Editor)

‘I thoroughly enjoyed reading The Robotic Tales. Natalie has a true understanding of human nature and a wonderful imagination. I am sure she would like the super desks at her school. The book has adventure, action, humour, good and evil and even a little bit of romance what more could you ask. Natalie has a real gift for story telling and I wish her all the best.’ Judy Detain (Keen reader)

‘I thought the plot was remarkable – who would have thought of Robots taking over the Earth, country by country? Also, she developed the plot as you went along. It was slowly released, so that you didn’t feel disappointed. I enjoyed the humour, which was sprinkled throughout the book, especially at the end. While writing, she lets a feeling of child-like innocence, particularly at the end, emerge. Also, the use of slang words, occasionally in speech or text, makes it easier and more enjoyable for all to read. Overall, I think The Robotic Tales by Natalie Igharo, is an excellent read for every age group.’ Osadeba Jegunma (aged 11 years)

‘I thought that the book was a great effort for someone as young as Natalie. Things I enjoyed about book: -

1.      The facts that were thrown in on several different topics – one it gave the reader some additional information and two it showed how well read and all rounded Natalie was.

2.      The humour ― I especially liked the section where the two girls were revising Spanish ― everything with ‘ito’ added!

3.      I also enjoyed seeing things from a teenage perspective. It was quite realistic.

4.      The section at the with Workings, Timelines, etc. was also well done and exactly how the professionals ‘do it!’

5.      It was also original to incorporate into the politics of the day touches of the Nigerian culture. In her own way Natalie challenges the stereotypes. It was ‘funny’ for the African countries to be the ones lending aid, and to be the ones with a new leader different from the usual mould; one who is not corrupt!

6.      From someone who is on very good terms with semi colons, and the use of brackets!  I thought that in the early pages there may have been another way of explaining what some phrases meant. For example at the bottom of page 102, I thought the use of the paragraph explaining Sim-fashion was very clever and professionally done. Really cool ― if I am allowed to say that and it’s not too old fashioned!

All in all, a great and wonderfully imaginative work. Hope I get to read many more as Fantasy is one of my often-visited sections at the library. If it won’t spoil her imagination she could see what Isaac Asimov has written which covers more than I Robot (made into the film).’ La Ruth Spencer, Milton Keynes, UK
